Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) is one of a few selected Indonesian public and reputable universities with government special autonomy called Perguruan Tinggi Negeri badan Hukum (PTNbH). As part of its tridharma (three missions of teaching, research and community service), UPI has education as its true colour or core business.
Formerly a teacher’s college, this comprehensive university currently offers diverse fields such as educational sciences, education-based disciplines, religion, humanities, and social sciences. In 2021, the QS-WUR by Subject Education and Training lists UPI in #201-250 (globally) and #1 (in Indonesia). UPI offers excellent programmes of Early Childhood Education, English Language Education, Tourism and Hospitality, and Sport Sciences. UPI’s Vocational Education is the Centre of Excellence in Indonesian TVET. Embracing the 21st century skills, UPI also open programmes emphasizing multimedia literacy such as Computer Science, Information System and Technology, Multimedia, and Digital Business and Entrepreneurship.
